Excellence in music performance as a path to excellence in life performance.
The Sound Support Foundation, founded in 2023 by GRAMMY-nominated bandleader and educator Caleb Chapman and his wife, Tommie Chapman, is a 501(c)(3) national music charity with a mission to transform the mental health and well-being of youth through music performance education. The foundation has already impacted the lives of thousands of students through outreach clinics, workshops, scholarships, and performances.
Research shows that participation in music can significantly improve mental health, especially for young people. The Sound Support Foundation’s programs go beyond traditional music education by adding in the power of performance training. This unique approach not only teaches young musicians to excel on stage but also provides them with tools to build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being. By fostering creativity, self-expression, and a sense of accomplishment, the foundation helps students develop skills that enhance their mental health and success in life, while also promoting the future of music education in our communities.
